Education covers the following areas:

Formal School
Children who come to the Vatsalya foundation on a regular basis and those residing in the shelter home are admitted to schools. Education is the process towards empowerment. Through proper education there is personal and social transformation. Education should go beyond literacy and 3 R’s and there has been an emphasis on the child’s overall development. To nurture and develop the child into a responsible member of society. Formal education is necessary in creating a strong foundation as well as helping the child come on par with other children in society. All children in the shelter home are admitted to school. They maintain a regular study schedule and are tutored by the able staff of the Vatsalya foundation. Two students who appeared for the tenth standard exams successfully cleared with 74%. This only consolidates the fact that all these children need is an enabling environment that facilitates them. This is provided by the Vatsalya Foundation.

Non-formal School
Non-Formal education is important for children to hone skills that will enable them to express their creativity. Street children who stay in the shelter home are given a chance to express this creativity through projects such as Bal Kruti which are conducted in the centre.

Vocational training
Vocational training is an integral part of Vatsalya. Training in block printing, clay modeling, gardening, stitching, embroidery, free hand drawing and folk art drawing are some of the skill children at Vatsalya are very good at. The youth are motivated to take up jobs of their interest. The employers also enroll the youth in giving training and then absorb in the skill. 49 youth got regular jobs thanks to the vocational classes.
