Manmohi
UPCOMING
EVENTS In The
Vatsalya Foundation:
- 26th February Tribal dance Festival at Murbad.
- 5th March Women’s Day celebration at Shahapur.
Vatsalya Foundation’s shelter
home is
surrounded
by nature. The children live one with nature and are very
sensitive to
the environment.
Manmohi is the center of attraction for all the visitors and
volunteers
at the residential home. Children take great interest in
maintaining
their garden and caring for the plants.
‘Adopt a
Plant’; this programme was initiated wherein a sale
of
saplings
was conducted by TVF. The gardens are a testimony of the
hard
work and care put in by the children.
Case Study-
Vikas Medhekar was
homeless and thanks to the effort of the outreach workers of
the
Vatsalya foundation he was admitted to the centre. When he
first came
in contact with the center he was observed to be a hyper
active child.
However staying in the centre helped him calm down and find
something
that was more than just a hobby- “The Gardening
Project”.
He spends a lot of time trimming and tending to the plants.
This
gentleness towards nature also manifests itself when he
interacts with
other children. With the entire world focused on Global
Warming and its
ill effects, the Vatsalya Foundation has proved that teaching people
from a young age to respect nature reaps great rewards.
